“The Last Three Years”

Huge effort, planning, patience and loads of hours (and Tea) over the last three years, have given us the opportunity to complete and consolidate pretty much all our original plans for the new combined Company.

On the facilities side – we are fully audited and compliant, totally rewired, clean tidy, warm and safe, with all that annoying making-good stuff done. The place looks great with a really well sorted process flow layout – that we are happy to show Customers where appropriate.

On the kit side – a number of key planned changes are now completed – the old Edwards 2 meter Tru-Cut, has been replaced by a “younger” K and B 4 X 2500 – The original Colchester has gone to make room for the DSG – Type 24 SB – and the Hurco MC15 3 axis CNC bed-mill, takes the space liberated by better layout.

Fully plumbed in compressed air lines and pendant three phase outlets into the centre of the workshop have also given us greater flexibility when moving around and working on large work pieces.

And Lastly – Our genuine gratitude and thanks to, Mark Ledger & Stephen Mieszczak at MD Wright Machinery Removals Limited, Units 4 & 5, Coleford Road, Darnall, Sheffield – for their patience, support, storage and faultless moving and installation of the Hurco Mill and the DSG lathe (about 15 tons between them), and Andy Lee of R & A Commercials Taunton – who pulled out the Parkson Mill, the Jig Borer, Bridgeport, Capstan Lathe and Surface grinder from the old PHE site under some really challenging conditions plus the New Guillotine from storage – all lifted and moved, and re-positioned perfectly without a hitch in one day! – again our genuine gratitude and respect to both Companies.

And Finally – In September 2017, We welcomed a German Engineering Apprentice, Florian, on a European Work Experience Placement, who was with us for most of the month. This was after an approach from the Training Partnership Ltd in Torquay, who place applicable candidates with Companies in the UK, to best broaden their experience, skills and technical language. This was really great for us as a smaller Company, at so many levels – not only to benchmark our processes and review training and tutelage – but also to shake up our work sharing and personnel skills a bit. We did not have the chance to participate in 2018/19 but this was purely down to an insane work load, but hope to be included again in 2020. Much to our pleasure and surprise in early 2018 we received a “Certificate of Excellence” for our quality of work experience placement, great news and thanks to Nadine at The Training Partnership, for her guidance and support.

Trading from the current DMA premises (please see below for all your new contact details) the integrity, energy and drive to produce the best design and production Fabrication and Precision Engineering remains uncompromised – and look forward to supporting your new and ongoing requirements.

Pete Norton will become your primary contact from January 1st and Mike will continue with the new Company part time during the handover period.
